Items found at the underwater Titanic wreckage site are on display until Spring 2009 in a special exhibition at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia.

This interactive exhibit at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia has over 190 artifacts, including clothing, shoes, suitcases, and dishes from the Titanic. Visitors have the opportunity to learn about the passengers on the Titanic through biographies posted on the walls of the exhibit. A list of all of the people who perished while on the ship is also included in the exhibit. Recreated passenger rooms on the ship allow visitors to get a better understanding of the lives of the people on the maiden voyage of the Titanic.

The Titanic exhibit represents the voyage chronologically, from the time the passengers stepped on the ship until the ship’s demise. High definition videos are used to help tell the story of the Titanic’s construction and destruction. The videos help people to understand some of the minute details which resuled in devastation on the Titanic's final voyage. People also get the opportunity to see first-hand the opulence associated with the Titanic. Visitors can also listen to audio explanations of the exhibit. Audio descriptions of the ship's construction and destruction can help tourists better understand the technical details associated with the wreck.

At the Georgia Aquarium, visitors can actually touch an iceberg to feel how cold it was on the night that the Titanic sunk. The iceberg is so cold that it is difficult to keep hands on it. Visitors can then understand that it was an incredible feat to survive the night in icy waters. The personal stories that accompany the exhibit are chilling and eye-opening.

Ticket Prices for the Titanic Exhibit at Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta

Tickets for the Titanic exhibit include entry into the Georgia Aquarium. Tickets are $31.50 for adults, $26.25 for seniors 55 and up, and $23.50 for children ages 3 to 12.

Regular admission prices for the Georgia Aquarium, for those who do not wish to see the Titanic exhibit, are $26 for adults, $19.50 for children ages 3 to 12 and $21.50 for seniors 55 and up.

The Georgia Aquarium is the Largest in the World

The Georgia Aquarium has over 8 million gallons of water and the largest collection of aquatic animals, and will present a new animal or exhibit to the aquarium every 90 days. The Georgia Aquarium is located at 225 Baker Street, in Atlanta Georgia. Hours for the aquarium are Sunday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The aquarium is open 365 days a year, but hours for the aquarium vary.
